Al Unser prepares to climb into his Chaparral 2K-Cosworth on the outside of the front row for the 1979 Indy 500 with team owner Jim Hall looking every inch a cowboy. Unser would start third in the first iteration of Chaparral’s “Yellow Submarine” and drop out with transmission problems. Johnny Rutherford would drive the car into Victory Lane at Indy the following year.
